How to: Switch Goodnotes Accounts Safely on Goodnotes Teams
Users that are part of a Goodnotes Organization may need to switch Goodnotes Accounts on the same device at certain points. This may be when they are first joining your Organization if they were already using Goodnotes before or if they want to switch between their personal account and work accounts.
How do I switch accounts?
Switching Goodnotes Account is simple:
- Make sure your data is synced or backed up manually
- Head to the Gear Menu in the Document View
- Tap on your Name to bring up your Profile
- Scroll down and tap Sign Out
- You will then be able to log in with your chosen Goodnotes Account
Please note: You do not need to reinstall the app to change your Goodnotes Account.
What do I do if I receive a warning when I sign in to the new account?
If the accounts you are switching between are both using different sync providers (Goodnotes Cloud or iCloud) then you may receive a warning about your existing documents when attempting to sign out. This can also happen if you weren't using a sync option on the account you were signing out from.
If you have received this warning, please make sure any documents on the other account are backed up before you sign into the new one.
This is usually prompted by a warning stating:
Another account was previously signed in on this device. Before you continue, please make sure any documents on the other account are backed up
What should I recommend to my users?
You should always recommend to your users to perform a backup whenever there is a possibility of changing accounts or devices. Your team do not need to sign out and back in, but prior to getting started on the Admin Console, you should advise them to backup using either of the two following methods available to you:
