How to: Revert to Non-Institutional Version

Transition from License Key to Admin Console by allowing your users to Revert to non-Institutional Version and join your organization.

If you would like to transition from using License Key product to the Goodnotes Teams, there are a few steps to complete. If you are currently using an active License Key, simply sending an email invite will not trigger the invitation flow, as such you will need to remove end-user devices from both your managed configuration and revert to a non-institutional version.

Revert to Non-Institutional Version (AKA - Removing Device from License Key)

If your end-users are individually  joining your organization on the Admin Console, they would need to be removed from the deployment via in-app settings.

Steps to remove device from License Key

All steps to be completed on target device.

  1. In Goodnotes application, head to Settings ⚙️

  2. Go to About Menu (indicated by "About")

  3. Scroll to bottom of About Menu page and find ‘License Key’ section

  4. Tap ‘Revert to Non-Institutional Version’

  5. Confirm choice on ‘Are you sure?’ dialog by tapping ‘Revert to Non-Institutional’

  6. Once confirmed, About Menu will refresh to show non-institutional menu.

  7. Close application.

Once the above steps are completed, you can look to join your respective organization via signing in and having domain capture add your users, or alternatively via invitation link.
