System Requirements for Running Goodnotes Teams or Enterprise

Hardware Requirements

  • Individual devices: Each user should have their own Apple, Android* or Windows* device
  • Stylus: An Apple Pencil or other compatible stylus is recommended for optimal handwriting experience (keyboard use is also supported)
  • Apple Neural Engine: For certain AI features, users will need to be using a device that includes Apple Neural Engine

*Only available on Goodnotes Teams tier. In addition Android and Windows devices have more limited compatibility than Apple devices, see here for requirements.

Software Requirements

  • Operating System: iPadOS 17.5 or later for Goodnotes 6
  • Apple Business Manager: May be required for Organizations to download and distribute the Goodnotes app

License Provisioning Options

Goodnotes Teams: Admin Console Provisioning

If using the Admin Console to provision your licensing:

  • An OIDC (Apple, Google, Microsoft) sign-in method available for initial sign-in and provisioning of the Admin Console
    • SAML SSO can be setup once initial sign-in & setup has been completed

Note: If you use hide my email functions, such as Apple's Private Relay or others, you will not be able to sign-in with this email type and must use the actual email. 

  • Web browser: Chrome, Safari, or Firefox (latest version of Chrome recommended for best results)
  • [Optional] MDM software to deploy your apps to your users if required
  • [Optional] Access to your DNS settings to verify your domain

Goodnotes Enterprise: License Key Provisioning

If using the license key solution via MDM, please ensure your setup meets the following:

  • Your MDM solution must be able to use a managed configuration for License Key deployment

    • Note: Some free versions of major MDM systems do not include managed configuration functionality
